A stressful day at work. Household chores await at home. You should go to bed early. Today there was no opportunity for exercise – or was there. According to the institute for health and welfare, only one in ten reaches the exercise recommendations, even though many feel that sport is an important part of life. Sometimes it can be useful to ask yourself if you actually don’t have time to exercise – or is it more a matter of your own ideas about what exercise actually means.
All movement pays off when it comes to sports, many people believe that there must be a minimum limit of at least half an hour or one consecutive hour for it to count. In addition, many have often realized through previous experiences that it takes time to move. Getting to the training area, warming up, training, stretching.
When it comes to sweaty intensity training in the terrain, the couch often feels like a more attractive option. But the fact is that even light outdoor exercise and regularity is very good for health. Just reducing your sitting time has health benefits. All in all, it can be stated that a person must move in order to maintain their health and performance. But how, when and where the movement takes place is of no great importance.
Tips to move more
Start easy: get up from your chair and work standing up. Always use the stairs at work and at home. Go to your colleague instead of emailing.
Discuss while you are moving. Kill two birds with one stone by holding walking meetings. Or call a friend you haven’t heard from in a while. Talk while you walk!
Get moving during your work trip. In the beginning, you can walk, jog or cycle to work and then take the bus home. Later, you might exercise the same way in both directions!
Move in stages during the day, for example for 3 x 10 min. Use 10 minutes of your coffee break. And then exercise the rest after work! Short sessions fit into the busiest calendar. No swipe excuses are allowed.
Start with a hobby that you really enjoy. Always set aside 1-2 hours each week and stick to it. View birds in nature or zumba at home to a video from youTube. Only the imagination sets limits.
Even the smallest moments of movement have an impact – measure yourself and see it with your own eyes! Life helps you identify stressful and restorative factors in your everyday life that make it easier for you to find balance in life.
