Reusing products is an interesting business opportunity… it just takes a small dose of ingenuity well, and also knowledge. If you lack one of the things you can always find a partner to cover it. Getting to the point, we liked these two projects that approach waste from two different perspectives with the same result.
One of them is the company comet bio-refining , which has developed a technology that allows agricultural waste (such as wood, straw, crushed corn and other types of crop materials) to be converted into high-purity cellulose glucose syrup. The result of this recycling becomes a source of sugar for food supplements and beverages that is cheaper than the traditional sugar used by the industry such as corn or sugar cane.
This company manufactures and markets sustainable products produced from food industry waste streams. Material derived from the nano-cellulose of carrots and sugar beets, with which it has created multiple solutions for the manufacture of paints, coatings, home and personal care products, among others.
The plastic that nature loved
In recent times, plastic has become the enemy to beat. The commission or the a planet no plastic pollution initiative are just two of the proposals to end the damage that plastic generates in the environment. At we have already echoed different innovative proposals in this line, such as those of the companies, which has developed the first edible and 100% biodegradable straw, which finances water access projects through selling its bottles with 100% recycled plastic.
Now, we’ve looked at company, which develops and markets next-generation bio-based plastics and chemicals. Its main innovation is a 100% plant-based plastic bottle. This new generation of bottles is being developed together with multinationals such as the coca cola company.
Against blackouts
Electricity companies lose hundreds of millions every time they suffer unforeseen events, either due to internal problems (breakdowns, breakages, damage, human errors…) or external problems (natural phenomena). We have looked at the american company dispatcher , which was presented at the time as an immune system for the electrical grid that helps energy service companies reduce both the frequency and duration of power outages.
Dispatcher offered a set of adaptive mobile and cloud services, integrating Geo-spatial big data and predictive AI, to help energy companies proactively develop the prevention and recovery capacity of their activity, avoiding human catastrophes and costly interruptions.
